Today Apple announced their new iPhones, the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max. In addition, they released another phone called the iPhone XR. This was announced September 12th in the Steve Jobs Theater, but pre-ordering for the iPhones begins at 12:01 am on September 13th.
The first two phones are the main highlight of the event. The new iPhones have the best specs with Apple’s new A12 bionic chip. The iPhone XS is 5.94 inches tall and 2.98 inches wide with just about a third of an inch of thickness. The iPhone XS Max is a bit different with a 6.2 inch height and 3.05 inches for it’s width.
The iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max may have the same depth but, the price range is completely different. The iPhone XS is retailed at $999 and the iPhone XS Max is retailed at $1099. This is a great price based on the damage these phones can take, their new upgraded water resistance and they have the strongest glass ever put in a phone.
While the first two phones may have been the most anticipated, they have the better specs with Apple’s new A12 bionic chip. But, the iPhone XR is also a huge release being 5.94 inches tall and 2.98 inches wide with just a third of an inch thick. But the real surprise with this phone is the fact that it’s retailed at $749. Some people are calling this the “budget phone.” In addition, Apple added an option of 512 gigabytes of storage for the iPhone XS and XS Max, but only goes up to 256 gigabytes on the iPhone XR.
Apple didn’t just release iPhones today, they also released the new Apple Watch Series 4. Out of the previous Apple Watches, the Series 4 has the largest display with almost a 30% increase compared to the older models. Apple is taking this screen increase and redesigned the display fitting more on one screen.
Not only did Apple fit more in the screen, but they also fit more inside the phone with better power efficiency (can last 18 hours on one charge) and a heart sensor.
Tell us in the comments what you think about the new phones and watch, do you like Apple or Samsung?
